Lubrication & Maintenance of a Handpiece

Handpiece Maintenance

Steps to Maintain Your Handpieces

1. Sterilization:

  • Sterilize each handpiece after every use as required.

  • Do not exceed 135°C during the sterilization cycle.

  • After the cycle is complete, allow the handpiece to cool to room temperature before handling.

2. Cleaning:

  • Clean the exterior surface of the handpiece using alcohol or distilled water.

  • Use a fine wire brush to gently remove any contaminants or residue.

3. Lubrication:

  • Apply 2–3 drops of handpiece oil into the air intake hole (refer to the diagram above).

  • Install a bur into the handpiece and run for 10–15 seconds to remove excess oil and flush out debris from inside the handpiece.

**WARNING**  Do Not Operate Handpiece Without a Bur Installed.
